Pastor

Brian Eades

My name is Brian Eades, and I have had the privilege of being pastor here for the past 33 years. The motto of our church is “Believe, Belong, Become” – Believing in Jesus Christ, having a sense of belonging in a growing Church, and becoming what God would have you to be in Ministry to the community and the world!

I was born in Statesville, NC in the old Davis Hospital in 1963. I lived in Statesville and in Charlotte until 1967 when my mom moved to California where I attended Los Angeles County Schools through 7th grade. I moved back to North Carolina in 1976 to live with my dad and I graduated from West Iredell High School in 1981.

My wife Jonna and I met when we were just 16 and 14 and have been together ever since. We married in 1982, and raised our two children, Stephen and Stephanie, on the family farm in Iredell County along the South Yadkin River.

Some of my interests outside of ministry involve astronomy, playing the hammered dulcimer, and reading, but spending time with my 3 grandchildren; Meela, Ava, and Otto; is perhaps my greatest joy in life.

I received Jesus Christ as my Savior in the summer of 1976 in the basement of a rental house on Lake Road in Thomasville, NC. I sensed the call to preach when I was 14 and went public with that calling at age 16, preaching my first sermon at the Taylorsville Baptist camp meeting in 1980. I graduated from Faith Bible Theological Seminary with an Associate of Ministry and Theology, and later, a Bachelors in Religious Education. God has blessed these past 46 years of ministry greatly and I’m humbled to continue the Lord’s work at Mt Nebo for many years to come, God willing. The KJV is the bible version I use from the pulpit, just as a personal preference.

I love our little local country church, and if you have more questions, please attend for yourself and worship with us!
